My name is Carlos Guzman I am a fairly new client of Vacation By V. You could say that I was an internet travel shopper. I would spend hours surfing countless sites and looking for the best deal I could find. Sometimes I would luck out and find a great deal on a great hotel. Other times my vacation planning skills would be considered an "EPIC FAIL" by my wife. When I thought of the term "travel agent" the thought of it being more expensive always crossed my mind. I knew I could do a better job than a travel agent could. Then I met Vicky.
My wife and I never had a honeymoon so I was looking at planning an anniversary trip to Cancun. As I usually did I spent hours scouring the internet for the best deal I could. After I found the best possible deal on the best possible property I gave the challenge to Vicky. My challenge was easy... "Beat It!" Did we end up going to the place I had spent hours finding? No!
Vicky showed me just how expensive this great deal I found was. I wanted to go the all-inclusive route and was disappointed to find out the "great deal" I had found didn't include transportation from the airport to the resort, an additional cost of $50 each way, nor did it include bottled water which was around $5 a bottle at the resort. Vicky ended up finding the perfect resort for us at the Riu Caribe. It included transfers, bottled water, and even a bar in our room! The best part of it all... it was for hundreds less than I had found the other resort for.
Our trip was great! First off I already felt better getting on the plane. I knew I had an insurance policy at my fingertips. This time I did not have to worry about something happening with our rooms or flights. I knew instead of spending my vacation on the phone with an internet booking agency or airline that had no idea who I was or didn't care how much time it took out of my vacation, all I had to do was call Vicky. This in itself was a great relief since I had in fact had the pleasure of spending vacation time on the phone trying to get my travel plans right in the past.
The flight to Cancun was great! I was relaxed knowing everything was supposedly taken care of and best of all my wife was happy. I was hoping that this was a sign of what was to come. It was! After we arrived at the airport we were greeted by a friendly driver who took us to the Riu Caribe. We had seen many photos of the resort and knew that they had to have some major photoshop work done to them. We were amazed to find out that the photos didn't do the Riu Caribe any justice at all! Before we had even gotten out of the van our bags were already being taken inside for us. We checked in but not before being served our first Mexican Mojito. Did I mention this was included. After check in another bellman took our bags to our room. Vicky had called ahead and let the Riu Caribe know that it was our anniversary and made sure we had an amazing room! It was quite possible the best room on the resort. Not only did we have and amazing ocean view but we also had an amazing view of the Marina!
I wish I would have known that the room we had gotten wouldn't have made much of a difference because we spent so much time outside of the room. The resort was stunning! Everything was beautiful and in place, the beach at the Riu Caribe was not only gorgeous, but was filled with things to do that was included in our stay. There was beach soccer, snorkeling gear, beach chairs and so much more all FREE for guests! I haven't even mentioned the pool yet. My favorite part of the pool was the bar! The swim up bar was amazing. I have seen swim up bars before but nothing like this. There were at least 30 underwater seats at the pool bar and of course, if they were all taken plenty of room to order standing up in the pool.
The Riu Caribe had a great international buffet open nearly all day long but you also had your choice of 3 other restaurants including a great american steak house, authentic mexican and and asian bistro. Although the restaurants were reservation only they were also included in our package. If you get hungry at night the sports bar was open all night long with snacks for you to take advantage of if you needed it.
We felt so comfortable that our food, drinks, and lodging were taken care of we took advantage of several excursions including swimming with the dolphins, snorkeling at the great reef, jet boating, the infamous 'Booze-Cruise' and a few other memorable experiences. To make the trip over the top Vicky made sure we got a huge fruit basket and bottle of champagne the night of our anniversary. Something I wouldn't have thought to pull of if I were booking it.
So if your wondering how I book my travel now... that's easy I book it with one call to Vicky. Finding the right travel agent is key, but I no longer spend countless hours hunting deals online and hoping for the best. Since our wonderful trip to Cancun we have booked 3 more vacations with Vacation By V. Take a look at a few of our photos below and we hope you have a great time next time you decide to "Get out of town with Vacation By V."
